Foundation of certain enterprises laid in Iran's Maku Free Trade Zone

The foundation of 4 manufacturing enterprises was laid in the Maku Free Trade Zone in the West Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) today on July 5, Head of Maku Free Trade Zone Mohammad Reza Abdolrahimi said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He made the remark in a groundbreaking ceremony dedicated in this regard.

Abdolrahimi noted that enterprises will produce various industrial sponges and foam, calcium carbonate, household items and clothing for the production of biodiesel and furniture materials.

The official added that a total of 3.81 trillion rials (about $90.7 million) will be spent on the enterprises and 545 people will be employed.

“In addition, $4 million worth of foreign investment will be made in the production of calcium carbonate microns,” he said.

As reported, there are 63 manufacturing enterprises in Iran's Maku Free Trade Zone.
