Food prices on rise in Kazakhstan

The prices of the food products increased by 0.7 percent in Kazakhstan in July 2021 compared to June, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The prices of non-food products increased by 0.5 percent, whereas prices of paid services went up by 0.8 percent.

An increase in prices was noted for white cabbage by 12.6 percent, beets by 9.1 percent, onions by 8.2 percent, sunflower oil by 4.2 percent, poultry meat by 3 percent, buckwheat by 2.6 percent, horse meat by 2.5 percent, lamb by 2.4 percent, beef by 2.2 percent, pork, tea by 2 percent each, eggs by 1.3 percent, granulated sugar by 1 percent, flour by 0.9 percent.

Tobacco products rose in price by 4.1 percent, mineral and drinking water by 1.2 percent, alcoholic beverages by 0.8 percent, soft drinks by 0.7 percent.

A decrease in prices was observed on potatoes by 20 percent, tomatoes by 14.8 percent, cucumbers by 11.9 percent, garlic by 6.8 percent, bananas by 2.5 percent, carrots by 2.2 percent.

The increase in prices for household appliances was 1.7 percent, building materials by 0.9 percent, furniture and household items by 0.6 percent, detergents and cleaning products by 0.5 percent, clothes and shoes, personal goods by 0.4 percent each.

Liquefied gas in cylinders rose in price by 2.1 percent, diesel fuel by 2 percent, gasoline by 0.9 percent.
