Azerbaijan discloses sales volume in Baku’s retail network in 1H2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4

The volume of food, drinks and tobacco products sold in the markets in Azerbaijan’s Baku from January through June 2021 increased by three percent compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to more than 11 billion manat ($6.5 billion), Trend reports on Aug. 4 with reference to the Baku City Statistics Department.

In general, the volume of trade turnover in Baku from January through June 2021 increased by 5.6 percent compared to the same indicator of 2020 and exceeded 5.7 billion manat ($3.3 billion).

The sales volume of non-food products increased by 0.4 percent and amounted to almost 5.3 billion manat ($3.1 billion).

Some 35.9 percent of the sold products accounted for the enterprises with the status of a legal entity, 42.5 percent - trade facilities owned by individual entrepreneurs, 21.6 percent - the markets of Baku.

The volume of trade turnover in Baku in 2020 increased by 0.5 percent compared to 2019 and amounted to 23.06 billion manat ($13.6 billion).

Thus, the volume of food, beverages and tobacco products sold in the markets of Baku increased by 6.4 percent during the reporting period compared to 2019 and amounted to more than 11.8 billion manat ($6.9 billion).

The sales volume of non-food products decreased by 4.6 percent and amounted to 11.3 billion manat ($6.6 billion).

Some 29.4 percent of the sold products accounted for the enterprises with the status of a legal entity, 54.2 percent - trade facilities owned by individual entrepreneurs, 16.4 percent - the markets of Baku.
