As many as 12 fishing facilities and ships in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) will be launched within the "Government Week" in Iran (August 24 through August 30, 2021), Director General of the Hormozgan Province Fisheries Department Abdolrasoul Daryaei said, Trend reports citing Iran Fisheries Organization’s information portal.
Daryaei noted that a total of 124 people will be employed as a result.
“In this regard, the government has spent 54 billion rials (about $1.28 million), while the private sector - 362 billion rials (about $8.62 million) and $6.5 million,” he added.
The director general stressed that in order to support fishing in Hormozgan Province, the “Pars Sadaf 1” ship will be launched. The ship cost $6.5 million and 32 people will be provided with jobs on this ship. The 64-meter-long and 12-meter-wide ship can store and transport 500,000 liters of fuel, 450 tons of fish and fisher products, and 350,000 liters of water.
According to him, with the introduction of a refrigerator with a capacity of 250 tons, 10 people will be employed. The manufacturing of refrigerators cost 48 billion rials (about $1.14 million).
“In addition, 8 facilities on shrimp farming on the 131 hectares in the province will be put into operation. A total of 356 billion rials (about $8.47 million) has been spent in this regard, which will provide jobs for 66 people,” Daryaei said.
The director general added that furthermore, a number of other fishing facilities will also be launched in Hormozgan Province.
