Azerbaijan boosts non-oil exports

Azerbaijan’s exports amounted to $11.4 billion in the first 7 months of 2021, including non-oil exports worth $1.4 billion, Trend reports citing the Export Review of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan.

According to the review, the country’s non-oil exports have increased by $316.7 million or 30.5 percent over the year.

“From January through July of this year, the share of fruit and vegetable products in non-oil exports amounted to $338 million. During the corresponding period, an increase of 2.4 times was recorded in the export of precious metals and their products, cotton yarn - 2.8 times, sugar - 2.3 times, chemical products - by 37 percent, cotton fiber - by 88.5 percent, aluminum and its products - by 42 percent,” the report said.

Leaders in the non-oil exports for the reporting period became raw cotton ($133.8 million), tomatoes ($128.2 million), gold ($116.9 million).

The largest importers of Azerbaijani products in the reporting period are the following states: Russia - $467.9 million, Turkey - $359.3 million, Switzerland - $129.5 million, Georgia – $94 million, the US - $33.7 million.
