Uzbek Minister of Finance Timur Ishmetov discussed the development of the capital market in the country with representatives of the Saudi Arabian delegation during a meeting on September 3, Trend reports citing the press service Ministry of Finance.
The Saudi Arabian delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Board of ACWA Power Mohammad Abdullah Abunayyan.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board of "Al Muhaidib Group" Sulaiman A.K Al Muhaidib, Executive Vice President Business Development of ACWA Power Tom Teerlynck, and responsible specialists.
The parties talked about the projects implemented by the company and prospects for cooperation in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the transformation of enterprises and banks with state participation, reforming public-private partnerships, and developing the private sector, and also agreed to expand cooperation within existing and new areas.
On the basis of a public-private partnership with the ACWA Power company, 3 projects are being implemented. This is the construction of a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1,500 MW in the Syrdarya region, the construction of 2 power plants of 500 MW each in the Bukhara region, and a new project for the production of electricity based on renewable resources with a total capacity of 1,500 MW in 3 districts of Karakalpakstan.
