Iran shares data on its exports to Turkey and Azerbaijan

Iran exported $1.26 billion worth of goods to Turkey and Azerbaijan during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

According to Latifi, Iran's exports to Turkey for the reporting period amounted to $1.1 billion, while to Azerbaijan - $161 million.

Previously Latifi said Iran exported 6.36 million tons of goods worth $2.51 billion to Turkey, as well as imported 4.81 million tons of goods worth $4.34 billion from there over the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).

As for Azerbaijan, Iran exported 1 million tons of goods worth about $511 million to Azerbaijan, while imported 28,600 tons of goods worth $76.1 million from Azerbaijan last Iranian year, Latifi had said.

Iran's trade turnover with foreign countries amounted to 59.3 million tons worth $34.2 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 38 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

So, Iran exported 45.5 million tons of goods worth $176 billion over the 5 months. The exports increased by 63 percent in terms of value and 20 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Within 5 months, Iran imported 13.8 million tons of goods worth $16.6 billion, which is an increase of 21 percent in terms of value and decreased by 5 percent in terms of volume.
