A modern typical livestock farm - Somme de l'Elevage - has been opened in the Georgian municipality of Dmanisi, Trend reports referring to the country's Ministry of Agriculture.

The farm was created, backed up by Georgian-French investments,

According to the farm's founder Jacques Fleury, the project has been implemented within the framework of the state agro-credit program.

The farm grows 300 heads of the French Salersky breed of cows, which are distinguished by their usefulness and, which is very important, are well adapted to the natural conditions of Georgia.

“We have received a lot of support from the ministry and FAO,” he said.

“The investments amount to 6 million lari ($1.9 million) and are agricultural loans. Significant investments have been made directly in land clearing,” said Giorgi Khanishvili, First Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture.
