Iran shares data on exports of agricultural products from Bilasuvar border checkpoint

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 29

In total, 68,000 tons of agricultural products were exported through the Bilasuvar border checkpoint in the Ardabil Province (north-western Iran) during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), Deputy Governor of Ardabil Province Arjang Azizi said, Trend reports citing the Ardabil Province Governor Office’s information portal.

According to Azimi, 50,000 tons of Iran’s total agricultural exports through the Bilasuvar checkpoint were accounted for potatoes.

“Since the beginning of the potato harvesting in Iran's Ardabil province this year, an average of 30-40 trucks have been transporting daily about 750 tons of potatoes for export,” he added.

The deputy governor noted that potato exports will continue in the coming months.

As reported, the Bilasuvar border checkpoint is located on the Iran - Azerbaijan border.
