Kazakhstan boosts revenues from passenger transportation via railways

Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation via railways amounted to 4.7 billion tenge ($11.2 million) in October 2021, which is 22.8 percent more than in October 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The revenue was 48.6 billion tenge ($114.5 million) over the ten months of 2021, which is 12.5 percent more in comparison to last year.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 12.2 million people over ten months, which is 31 percent more compared to the same period of last year (1.1 million passengers in October 2021, up by 16.8 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 9.9 billion passenger-kilometers (pkm) which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 39.1 percent. October’s passenger turnover was 987.4 million pkm (23.5 percent increase year-on-year).

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via railway transportation amounted to 880.5 billion tenge ($2.07 billion) over ten months of 2021, which is 6.4 percent more than during the same period of 2020.

Revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via railway in October 2021 amounted to 91.9 billion tenge ($216.3 million), which is a 1.8-percent increase in comparison to the same month of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage transported via railway during the reporting period amounted to 342.6 million tons, climbing by 0.7 percent compared to the same period of last year (35.3 million tons in October 2021, down by 6.3 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 245.8 billion ton-kilometers decreasing by 0.8 percent compared to last year (26.1 billion in October 2021, a decrease of 5.6 percent).
