Comprehensive work is underway in Turkmenistan to raise gas production, Trend reports citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH).
The issue was discussed at a working meeting on the development of the fuel-energy and financial-economic complexes of the country.
According to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shahim Abdrakhmanov, along with the mentioned work, activities are also being carried out to increase the productivity of existing wells and develop new ones.
Abdrakhmanov also informed about the measures being taken to further develop gas production and efficiently sell it on international markets.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the meeting noted that effective steps should be taken to accelerate geological exploration, increase the volume of identified and proven reserves of hydrocarbons and other natural resources.
Efforts must be made to attract foreign investments to the oil refining and gas chemical industries added Berdimuhamedov.
