TEHRAN, Iran, Nov. 29
Trend:
Iran is resuming exports to Tajikistan through the transit routes of Turkmenistan, Chairman of Iran-Tajikistan Joint Chamber of Commerce Mohammad Hossein Roshanak told Trend.
The recent visit of Iranian President to Ashgabat to attend the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO) summit was effective for Iran's relations with Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, Roshanak noted.
Turkmenistan has previously closed its cargo transit route to Tajikistan, so Iran had to export its goods via Uzbekistan or Kazakhstan to Tajikistan.
"Now the transit is resuming," Roshanak indicated.
About 90 percent of Iranian goods exported to Tajikistan are transported by rail and 10 percent by trucks.
