The National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) has discovered a new copper mine in the Kerman Province (south-eastern Iran), which has a reserve of more than 500 million tons, the Managing Director of the company, Ardashir Sad Mohammadi said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.
Sad Mohammadi said that thus, Iran has discovered new mines with 4.2 billion tons of mining reserves in a short term. In total, these mines contain 20 million tons of net copper.
“In the near future, the construction and launch of copper processing plants will result in large profits for Iran's copper industry,” the director said.
According to the statement of the director of the NICICO on April 4, 2021, Iran's net copper reserves are 40 million tons.
