Trend:

The first shipment of livestock including 2,700 live sheep was exported from the port of Khorramshahr to Kuwait, the General Director of Khorramshahr Port and Maritime Organization said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The export of live animals from Khorramshahr port has been done after getting the necessary permission of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, Nourullah Asaadi announced.

The cost of Iran's exports of live animals to Kuwait through the sea route of Khorramshahr port is lower compared to other ports due to the proximity of this port to the Persian Gulf countries.

According to IRNA, Khorramshahr port is located within the Arvand Free Trade Zone and has 20 berths, 230 hectares of the hinterland, and advanced equipment, benefiting from a multi-modal transportation system that is connected to the Khomeini port corridor.
