Iran’s trade turnover with the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) increased by 42 percent in value and 30 percent in volume, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
Latifi stressed that Iran's trade turnover with ECO member states for the reporting period amounted to 23 million tons worth $11.7 billion.
The official added that Iran exported 19.8 million tons of goods worth $7.64 billion to ECO member states in 9 months, which is an increase of 52 percent in value and 41 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
"So, Iran exported $4.13 billion worth of goods to Turkey, $1.41 billion worth to Afghanistan, $911 million worth to Pakistan, $388 million worth to Azerbaijan, as well as $310 million worth to Uzbekistan, $240 million worth to Turkmenistan, $133 million worth to Kazakhstan, $62 million worth to Kyrgyzstan and $54 million worth to Tajikistan," he said.
The spokesman also noted that Iran imported 3.38 million tons of goods worth $4.11 billion from the ECO member states over 9 months, which is an increase of 27 percent in value, while a decrease of 12 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
"Thus, Iran has imported $3.69 billion worth of goods from Turkey, $194 million worth from Pakistan, $97 million worth from Uzbekistan, $38 million worth from Kazakhstan, $32 million worth from Azerbaijan, as well as $25 million worth from Turkmenistan, $15 million worth from Tajikistan, $13 million worth from Afghanistan and $2 million worth from Kyrgyzstan," the official said.
The following ten countries are at present the member states of ECO: Afghanistan, Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Turkey, Turkmenistan, Republic of Uzbekistan.
