The National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) is investing $1.3 billion in seven projects in the copper industry, said Director General of the NICICO Ardeshir Saad Mohammadi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"The company will invest in seven projects from 48 mega projects in Iran's oil, industry, and mine industries," he said.
The National Iranian Copper Industries Company's investments projects are the cathode production in Sungun copper mine in East Azerbaijan Province, the third phase of Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex, and the second phase of Meydook copper concentrate company in Kerman Province.
Other projects include the production of sulfuric acid in Sarcheshmeh and Khatoonabad copper complexes, the construction of copper flotation plant and lime plant in Khatoonabad.
The country's copper reserves have increased by the exploration of 4.2 million tons of new reserves.
