Iran's exports to the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) increased by 51 percent in value and 36 percent in volume, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through January 20, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
According to Latifi, Iran exported a total of 21 million tons of goods worth $8.42 billion to ECO member states in 10 months.
The customs official added that Iran exported 12 million tons of goods worth $4.53 billion to Turkey, 3.58 million tons worth $1.54 billion to Afghanistan and 2.4 million tons worth over $1 billion to Pakistan over ten months.
"Also, Iran exported goods worth $438 million to Azerbaijan, worth $341 million to Uzbekistan, worth $267 million to Turkmenistan, worth about $150 million to Kazakhstan, worth $67.9 million to Kyrgyzstan and worth $67.3 million to Tajikistan within the mentioned," he said.
The spokesman also pointed out that Iran's exports to ECO member states are mainly petroleum products, dairy products, foodstuffs, fruits, fruit juices, carpets, saffron, fish, caviar, various construction materials, industrial equipment, bags, footwear, medicines, medical equipment and supplies and etc.
Latifi emphasized that Iran's foreign trade turnover with ECO member states for the first 10 months of the current Iranian year amounted to 24.7 million tons worth $13.1 billion. Trade turnover increased by 41 percent in value and 25 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
The following ten countries are at present the member states of ECO: Afghanistan, Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Turkey, Turkmenistan, Republic of Uzbekistan.
