Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey up

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 4

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey increased by 33 percent and exceeded $4.1 billion as of 2021, Trend reports with reference to the government of Kazakhstan.

This statement was made during the 12th meeting of the Kazakhstan-Turkey Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, chaired by Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov and Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay.

Smailov emphasized the strategic nature of the Kazakh-Turkish partnership, adding that export from Kazakhstan to Turkey in 2021 increased by 39 percent and amounted to about $3 billion while imports to Kazakhstan from Turkey in 2021 increased by 20.5 percent and amounted to $1.1 billion.

Presently, Turkish businessmen are implementing investment projects worth $5.5 billion in Kazakhstan.

In turn, Oktay stressed that the Republic of Turkey is ready to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation with Kazakhstan in all spheres, which will contribute to the development of the mutually beneficial partnership.

The final protocol of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was signed and a joint plan was adopted following the discussions. The members of official delegations held bilateral meetings to discuss the relevant issues of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
