Iran's food producers and knowledge-based companies are looking for trade opportunities with Russia, the chairman of Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce Hadi Tizhoosh Taban in an interview with Trend.
"The Russian government has been sanctioned due to its conflict with Ukraine. In the current situation, Russia needs to import goods from other routes and Iran has strong capacities for food, vegetable, and fruit export," he said.
The official went on to say that Iran can use the capacity of knowledge-based companies to fill the void in the Russian market.
"Iran should establish consistent new trade ties. Russia is a good market for Iran and we should not waste the opportunity and make an inclusive action," he indicated.
Taban has stressed the government's role in creating consistent trade relations with Russia.
"The government and the Central Bank of Iran should cooperate with the private sector to solve the issues in trade," he noted.
A Russian delegation visited Iran to confirm the quality of bell peppers grown in greenhouses. According to the official, the delegation approved the quality of limited producing companies but did not have the time to visit all greenhouses and the export process for greenhouse products needs to improve.
