TEHRAN, Iran, April 4. The Iranian government is supporting knowledge-based and private companies in the East Azerbaijan Province, the Deputy Governor of East Azerbaijan Province at Economic Affairs told Trend.
"Knowledge-based companies of the East Azerbaijan Province require more attention, since heavy industries are old, while machinery and production technologies are aging," he said.
He went on to say that knowledge-based companies can promote production and machinery to resume the work of factories.
The unemployment rate in the province is 8.7 percent which is partly among the educated class, and a knowledge-based related environment would encourage them to work in the production sector.
According to the official, the agenda of the governorate in East Azerbaijan Province is to support knowledge-based companies.
