BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. The number of loans to be issued by the Bank Keshavarzi Iran for the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023) will increase by 20 percent, compared to last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), new Director of the bank Mehdi Rezaee told reporters, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The director stressed that the Bank Keshavarzi Iran plans to issue a total of 1.2 quadrillion rials (about $28.6 billion) worth of loans for the current Iranian year.

Rezaee added that the reason for increasing the amount of loans is to increase support for agriculture and livestock. So that the country can take serious steps in the direction of full self-sufficiency in this area.

“The Bank Keshavarzi Iran issued about 1 quadrillion rials (about $23.8 billion) worth of loans over last Iranian year. About 80 percent of the loans were issued in agriculture and livestock sectors,” he said.
