BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. The crude copper production of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) increased by 9 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, the Managing Director of the company, Ali Rostami said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.
The director noted that the NICICO produced a total of 26,673 tons of crude copper during the reporting month.
Rostami added that the company also produced 25,145 tons of copper cathode in the first month, which is an increase of 4 percent compared to the company’s monthly plan.
“Meanwhile, the company’s copper concentrate production for the first month amounted to 111,237 tons, which is 10 percent more than in the same month last Iranian year. The figure stood at 109,144 tons in the same period last Iranian year,” he said.
In addition, the NICICO has produced 85,882 tons of sulfuric acid in the first month, which is an increase of 35 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, the production amounted to 64,076 tons in the same month last Iranian year, Rostami also said.
