BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. The National Iranian Copper Industries Company’s (NICICO) copper cathode exports increased by 275 percent in value and 240 percent in volume, in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Managing Director of the company, Ali Rostami said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.

The director stressed that the company exported a total of 7,774 tons of copper cathode worth $79 million for the first month.

“Meanwhile, in the same month last Iranian year, the company’s copper cathode exports amounted to 2,286 tons worth $21 million,” he said.

Rostami noted that the company’s total sales for the first month amounted to 13,560 tons worth about 72.9 trillion rials (about $1.73 billion), which is an increase of 212 percent in value and 120 percent in volume compared to the same month last Iranian year.

Thus, the NICICO has sold 6,160 tons of products worth 23.4 trillion rials (about $556 million) in the same month last Iranian year, the official added.

According to Rostami, the company also sold 92,647 tons of sulfuric acid in the first month, which is an increase of 78 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.

Whereas in the same month last Iranian year, the company’s sulfuric acid sales amounted to 52,167 tons, he said.
