Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange soar

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 1. A total of 1.8 million tons of goods worth about 171 trillion rials (about $4.08 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (April 23 through April 28, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 21.8 percent in value and 5 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (April 16 through April 21, 2022).

So, 1.71 million tons of goods worth about 141 trillion rials (about $3.35 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.

According to the report, about 1.48 million tons of goods worth about 102 trillion rials (about $2.44 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

The main products sold in this section were cement, steel, sponge iron, aluminum, iron ore, copper, zinc, molybdenum concentrate, lead, gold bars, and etc.

In addition, about 319,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 64.6 trillion rials (about $1.53 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

The main products sold in this section were bitumen, polymer substances, lube cut, vacuum bottom, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, argon, and etc.

Furthermore, about 5,780 tons of various products worth about 2.55 trillion rials (about $60.9 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.

At the same time, 5 tons of saffron worth 1.37 trillion rials (about $32.6 million) were sold in the agricultural section of the exchange.
