BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) decreased by 10 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, about 102,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port in the 1st month. Of this figure, 23,000 tons were loaded and 79,000 tons were unloaded.
In addition, 21,300 tons of cargo were exported and 78,600 tons were imported through the Anzali port over the reporting month.
Also, 1,740 tons of cargo were loaded and 167 tons were unloaded in the port for transit, as well as, 160 tons of cargo were unloaded for other purposes in the 1st month, the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 58,000 tons of essential products, 3,320 tons of metal products, 7,430 tons of construction and mining materials, 642 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 4,750 tons of chemicals, about 21,900 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 5 tons of small and assorted goods, 4,440 tons of container products, and 1,470 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In general, more than 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.49 million tons were loaded and 6.26 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 10.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
