TEHRAN, Iran, June 1. A Nigerian trade
delegation headed by the country’s minister of foreign affairs is
to visit Iran for talks with top Iranian officials, Trend reports citing the
Public Relations Department of Iran`s Ministry of Industry, Mine
and Trade.
The high-ranking delegation will be headed by the Nigerian Foreign
Minister Geoffrey Onyeama.

delegation is slated to arrive in Tehran on June 7. The Nigerian
officials are scheduled to meet top Iranian officials including the
first Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, Trade Minister Reza Fatemi

Facilitating trade exchanges between Iran and Nigeria, boosting
bilateral trade, and concluding trade agreements will top the
agenda of the negotiations in Tehran.
During the visit, the Nigerian trade delegation will have
face-to-face meetings with Iranian businessmen to discuss ways to
tackle obstacles impeding business between the private sectors of
the two countries.
Also at the end of the visit, several documents and memorandums of
cooperation will be signed between Iran and Nigeria by Seyed Reza
Fatemi Amin, and Geoffrey Onyeama.
It should be noted that this trip comes in line with Iran’s plan to
develop trade ties with African countries. The agreements are
expected to dramatically increase bilateral trade between Iran and
Nigeria within a short period of time. Nigeria is one of Iran's
four top trading partners in Africa.
