BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. The current rapeseed harvesting season in Iran’s Khuzestan Province has already ended, Director General of the Iranian Government Trading Corporation’s branch in Khuzestan Province Omid Jahan Nejadian said, Trend reports citing the corporation’s website.
The director general stressed that a total of 78,000 tons of rapeseed have been purchased from farmers in the Khuzestan Province during this season, which lasted from March 4 to June 11, 2022.
Jahan Nejadian added that rapeseed has been grown on 45,500 hectares of land in the province this year.
In total, about 295,000 tons of rapeseed is expected to be harvested from 183,000 hectares of land in Iran for the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
The price of 1 kg of rapeseed was set up at 150,000 rials (about $3.57 million) for the current Iranian year.
A number of products, including wheat, tea, rice, and other products are purchased from farmers by GTC under a guarantee in Iran.
