BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 13. The amount of loans issued by Iranian banks to startup companies in country increased by 79 percent, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), Ali Salehabadi said, Trend reports citing the CBI’s website.

The director general noted that Iranian banks issued loans worth 277 trillion rials (about $6.59 billion) to 1,715 start-up companies in country within 4 months.

“Meanwhile, in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), the figure stood at about 670 trillion rials (about $15.9 billion),” Salehabadi added.

According to him, taking into account that the development of start-up companies in Iran is a priority of the government for the current year, the amount of loans to be issued to the mentioned companies is expected to increase.
