Iran shares data on areas to be planted with wheat in Qazvin Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. Iran is expected to be cultivated wheat on 158,000 hectares of land in Qazvin Province (northern Iran), for the next season, Director General of Qazvin Province Agricultural Department Hasan Jalilvand said, Trend reports citing the department’s website.

“Of this, 49,700 hectares will be ordinary agriculture lands (water areas), while 108,000 hectares - dry farming lands,” he said.

Jalilvand added that a total of 330,000 tons of wheat will be harvested from the mentioned areas. About 240,000 tons will be taken from ordinary agricultural lands, while 90,000 tons - from dry farming lands.

The director general also pointed out that the price of 1 kilogram of seed wheat for next season is expected to be 150,000 rials (about $3.57).
