BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 4. Iran’s non-oil exports through the customs of Markazi Province (central Iran) increased by 0.5 percent in value and 2 percent in value during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office Esmaeil Hosseini told reporters, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The director general said that about 793,000 tons of goods worth about $896 million were exported from Iran’s Markazi Province in 6 months.

Hosseini added that the main exported goods were profiles, aluminum ingots, various hydrocarbons, chemicals, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), ceramics, glassware, and etc.

According to him, these goods were exported to 72 countries, including Iraq, Türkiye, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Russia through the province’s customs.

“In addition, 77,300 tons of goods worth over $283 million were imported through the province's customs within six months, which is an increase of 23 percent both in value and volume compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the official noted.

Hosseini also pointed out that raw materials and equipment were the main imported goods via the province’s customs. These goods were imported from 41 countries, including the UAE, Türkiye, China, Qatar and Hong Kong.

The director general stressed that the province's customs revenues for 6 months amounted to 2.42 trillion rials (about $57.5 million), which is an increase of 119 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
