TEHRAN, Iran, October 20. Iran plans to extend the tax exemption for hotels, and tourism facilities in Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Ezzatollah Zarghami announced, Trend reports citing Tasnim.
Zarghami made the remarks on the sidelines of the cabinet of ministers.
“Although the mentioned resolution had a high cost, the government allowed a 2 years extension of tax exemption for hotels to strengthen the tourism infrastructure,” he said.
In August 2020, Iran approved a plan to exempt cheap and small hotels from value-added tax (VAT) to compensate for the losses caused by the Covid-19 outbreak.
