BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 28. Overall, 157,000 tons of goods worth approximately $581 million were imported to Iran’s Markazi Province during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office, Alireza Sadeghifar told IRNA, Trend reports.

“The imports of goods to the province for the reporting period increased by 30 percent both in terms of value and volume compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the official said.

He added that raw materials, aluminum alloy ingots, sunflowers, fruit juice containers, peanuts, and so on were the main imported products.

Sadeghifar noted that the mentioned goods were imported to the province from 51 countries, mainly the UAE, Türkiye, China, India.

The official also pointed out that the province's customs revenues for 11 months amounted to about 13.4 trillion rials (about $318 million), which is an increase of 6 times compared to the same period last Iranian year.

In general, Iran imported 33.6 million tons of goods worth $53.7 billion within the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023). This is an increase of 15.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 8.61 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
