BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. Iran imported a total of 37.1 million tons of goods worth approximately $59.7 billion, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), a member of the international and foreign trade committee of the House of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Rouhollah Latifi said on social media, Trend reports.

The official noted that Iran's imports for the reporting period increased by 13 percent in value while decreasing by 10 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

“So, Iran imported goods worth about $18.4 billion from the UAE, worth $15.7 billion from China, worth $6.1 billion from Türkiye, worth $2 billion from India and worth $2 billion from Germany for the last Iranian year,” he added.

Meanwhile, Iran's non-oil trade turnover amounted to over 159 million tons worth approximately $113 billion in the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 11.2 percent in value compared to the preceding year.

Last year, Iran mainly imported essential products (including, wheat, barley, cooking oil and etc.) and mobile phones.
