BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. Iran's export of fish and related products increased by 29.4 percent in value and 23 percent in volume, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
About 31,500 tons of fishery products worth over $58 million were exported from Iran within 2 months.
Meanwhile, in the same period of last Iranian year, Iran’s fishery exports stood at 25,600 tons worth $44.8 million.
In 2 months, 5,170 tons of shrimp worth over $19.6 million, 3,720 tons of cutlassfish worth $7.32 million, 7,830 tons of fish feed worth $6.65 million, 6,070 tons of carp worth $4.84 million and 1,480 tons of trout worth $4.28 million were exported from the country.
Furthermore, 973 tons of fish and related products worth approximately $3.74 million were imported to Iran for 2 months.
This is an increase of 56 percent in value and 174 percent in volume compared to 355 tons about $2.4 million in the same period in the last year.
Overall, Iran's total non-oil exports amounted to 21 million tons worth $7.51 billion within the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023).
This is an increase of 12.3 percent in value, while a decrease of 13.7 percent in volume compared to the same period in the last Iranian year.
