BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 31. Local pick-up truck manufacturing in Iran increased by 52 percent, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
In 4 months, 50,563 pick-ups were manufactured in the country, while this figure stood at 33,259 in the same period last Iranian year, according to the report of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
Meanwhile, in the 4th month of the current Iranian year alone (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iran’s pick-up truck manufacturing amounted to 14,606 units. This is an increase 63 percent compared to 8,944 units in the same month of the last Iranian year.
Overall, 125,507 pick-ups were manufactured in Iran for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 56 percent compared to 80,243 units in the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
In total, 442,686 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks and trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran for the first 4 months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 30 percent compared to the same period in the last year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
