BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. Iran’s non-oil exports through Bilasuvar border terminal in Ardabil Province (north-western Iran) increased by 12 percent in volume, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Director General of the Road and Transport Department of Iran’s Ardabil Province, Kalimollah Vosughi said, Trend reports.

The director general said that about 166,000 tons of non-oil products were exported through Iran’s Bilasuvar border terminal in 4 months, while in the same period last year, the figure stood at 147,000 tons.

He added that the main exported non-oil products were ceramics, glass materials, profiles, fittings, pepper, potatoes and salt, etc.

According to Vosughi, the goods were exported by 7,800 trucks. Of them, 77 percent belonging to Iran, 13 percent to Azerbaijan and Russia, and 10 percent to Georgia.

“In addition, 8,390 tons of goods were imported through Bilasuvar border terminal for 4 months. This is an increase of 144 percent in volume compared to 3,400 tons in the same period last Iranian year,” he noted.

During 4 months, 39,814 trucks and 725 buses crossed through Bilasuvar border terminal, Vosughi also pointed out.

Iran’s Bilasuvar border terminal is located on the border with Azerbaijan.
