BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 4. Iran exported approximately 16,000 tons of pistachios worth $110 million, during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), said Rouhollah Latifi, an official of Central Union of Rural And Agricultural Cooperatives of Iran, Trend reports.
Latifi noted that Iran's pistachio exports for the reporting period decreased by 1 percent in value, while increasing by 6 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“In general, Iranian pistachios were exported to 44 countries. About 13,000 tons of unshelled pistachios worth $71.7 million and 3,000 tons of shelled pistachios worth $38.2 million were exported,” he added.
According to the official, Iran exported pistachios worth $25 million to Russia, $11.2 million to Germany, $11 million to the UAE, $8.5 million to Kyrgyzstan and $7.5 million to China within 5 months.
Overall, Iran exported 55.9 million tons of non-oil products worth $19.3 billion during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 26.5 percent in value, while a decrease of 8.55 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
