BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. Iran's non-oil imports increased by 11.6 percent in value and 6.89 percent in volume, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Mohammad Rezvanifar said, Trend reports.
According to Rezvanifar, Iran imported 17.6 million tons of goods worth over $30.4 billion within 6 months.
The director general noted that the main goods imported to Iran in 6 months were corn feed worth $1.7 billion, mobile phones worth $1.2 billion and soybean seeds worth $1 billion.
“In 6 months, the country imported products worth $9 billion from the UAE, $8.8 billion from China, $3.3 billion from Türkiye, $1.1 billion from Germany and $987 million from India,” he added.
Meanwhile, Iran's total non-oil trade turnover stood at 85.3 million tons worth approximately $54.6 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year. Trade turnover increased by 4.84 percent in value and 23.7 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
