BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22. The Iranian government has submitted its state budget draft for the next Iranian year (from March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025) to the parliament, Trend reports.
On November 21, 2023, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi presented the country's state budget draft for next year to the parliament for review and approval.
The budget draft shows an 18.2 percent increase in revenues compared to the current year’s state budget (from March 21, 2023 to March 19, 2024).
In Iran, the government sends the proposed draft budget to the parliament, which has to accept it. If it doesn't, the draft budget bill is returned to the government for further adjustments.
In Iran's draft state budget next year, revenues are expected to be 24.6 quadrillion rials (about $586 billion), while in the state budget of the current year, the figure was estimated at 20.8 billion rials (about $496 billion).
Direct revenues are estimated to be approximately 15 quadrillion rials (about $356 billion) in next year's state budget draft, which is 41.9 percent more than the state budget project of the current year.
In the next year's draft state budget, the export of crude oil is estimated at 6.47 quadrillion rials (about $154 billion), which is 11.6 percent less than in the current year.
Also, the sale of government bonds is estimated to be 3.19 quadrillion rials (about $76 billion) in the next year's state budget draft, showing an increase of 7.9 in the current year.
