BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. Iran’s non-oil trade turnover with Kazakhstan decreased by 18 percent in value and 26.7 percent in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
Data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that the non-oil trade between the countries for the reporting period was around 411,000 tons worth over $171 million.
In the corresponding period of the previous Iranian year, the two countries traded nearly 561,000 tons of non-oil goods worth $209 million.
Over the course of eight months, the main traded goods were agricultural and food products, tobacco products, petrochemical products, wheat, barley, various types of equipment, etc.
In the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran’s non-oil trade with Kazakhstan stood at 40,200 tons worth about $24.2 million.
Overall, Iran’s non-oil trade with the world for the first eight months of this year was $74.1 billion, involving about 115 million tons of goods. This was an increase of 7.2 percent in value and 22.6 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
