BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 3. Iran’s non-oil exports from Razavi Khorasan Province, located in the north-east of the country, rose by 21 percent in value and 29 percent in volume, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Razavi Khorasan Province Amir Reza Rajabi said, Trend reports.
Rajabi also said that the province exported 2.06 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.19 billion in nine months.
The chairman added that 47 percent of the exported goods in volume were industrial products, 28 percent - agricultural products, 18 percent - mining minerals, 6 percent - petrochemical products, and 1 percent - carpets and handicrafts.
According to Rajabi, the main export destinations were Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iraq.
Iran’s efforts to boost its non-oil exports amid the US sanctions that limit its oil sales. Iran’s non-oil exports include all products except crude oil, mazut, and white oil.
The latest data from IRICA shows that Iran exported about 102 million tons of non-oil products worth $36.4 billion in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023). This represents a 0.68 percent drop in value, but a 26.5 percent rise in volume compared to the same period last year.
