BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 9. Iran’s Ilam Province, located in the west of the country, has seen the revival of 220 manufacturing enterprises in the last two years, said Shahriar Abbasi, the province’s deputy governor for economic affairs, Trend reports.

Abbasi said that the current government, which took office in August 2021, has sped up the process of resuming the activity of manufacturing enterprises in the province.

He added that these enterprises, which operate in various fields such as industry, mining, agriculture, animal husbandry, tourism, and cultural heritage, received 10.4 trillion rials (about $247 million) to restart their operations. As a result, 1,600 people landed jobs at these enterprises.

The deputy governor also said that there were 400 manufacturing enterprises that were inactive when the current government came to power. He said that the priority is to resume the activity of the remaining 180 manufacturing enterprises.

“In addition, we solved the problems that 148 manufacturing enterprises in Ilam Province faced and improved their production. This led to the employment of 1,700 more people,” he said.

Iran’s Ilam Province has a lot of potential in different fields, such as hydrocarbon resources, mining, tourism, agriculture, and others. Iran is aiming to boost the province’s income by attracting investments in this province.
