Customs Administration reveals Iran’s top three non-oil exporters and importers

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 12. Three Iranian companies exported over $6.71 billion worth of non-oil products in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024).

As indicated in the data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), these companies were National Iranian Gas Company (14.3 million tons worth $5.27 billion), Nouri Petrochemical Company (1.42 million tons worth $745 million), and Pardis Petrochemical Company (2.25 million tons worth $697 million).

Out of the total non-oil product exports of Iran, which amounted to $40.5 billion and 113 million tons, 100 companies contributed 60 percent in value and 53 percent in volume. These 100 companies exported $24.3 billion and 60 million tons of products.

On the other hand, three Iranian companies imported $4.42 billion worth of goods, weighing 8.42 million tons. These companies were the Government Trading Corporation of Iran (2.98 million tons worth $1.87 billion), Ava Tejarat Saba Trading Company (3.36 million tons worth $1.43 billion), and State Livestock Affairs Logistics (2.06 million tons worth $1.12 billion).

Meanwhile, the import of 100 companies accounted for 37.5 percent of Iran’s total imports in value and 58.4 percent in volume. The mentioned 100 companies imported $20.4 billion worth of goods, weighing 19 million tons in 10 months.

The IRICA’s latest data shows that Iran’s total imports stood at 32.7 million tons, worth $54.3 billion, in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year, showing an 11.6 percent increase in value and a 6 percent increase in volume compared to the same period last year.

In general, Iran prioritizes the import of essential products for the country and imposes certain limitations on the import of goods that are domestically produced.
