AZERI GOVERNMENT DETERMINES INFLATION FIGURE FOR 2006
The Azerbaijani government determined inflation figure for 2006. In accordance with forecast, inflation level for 2006 will make up approximately 9%, Avaz Alakbarov, the Finance Minister, told Trend.
The figure is a simple average of inflation figures proposed by different ministries and departments. There were two proposals on inflation figure for 2006: from 5% to 7% and from 10% to 12%.
вЂњ9% inflation figure will allow the government to provide economic development of the country,вЂќ Alakbarov noted. The government pursues active economic policy leading to growth of budget incomings and populationвЂ™s money incomings, as money incomings will grow by 27.4% in 2006, average salary - at least by 25%. вЂњTherefore, to forecast a 5-6% inflation for 2006 is unreal,вЂќ Alakbarov added.
The Minister also underlined that the inflation figure over 8 months of 2005 is equal to 2.2%, while it will comprise 12% over whole 2005.
