The Azerbaijan Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov met with the Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin today in Baku, the Transport Ministry told Trend.
During the meeting the issues of cooperation in export-import and transit traffic between the states, increase of freight traffic along the TRACECA railway corridor and the project of Kars-Ahalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey) railway have been discussed. The Kazakhstan side displays currently a large interest to the project, the Ministry noted. Particularly, with involvement of Kazakhstan the port Aktau and the railway station Dostik may be engaged in it too.
The issue of sea transportations till 2015 and using the Kazakhstan ports Kurik and Bautino in this process have been also discussed.
