China bans import of poultry products from Azerbaijan

China imposed ban on import of living poultry and poultry products from Azerbaijan and some countries, Trend reports referring to the news release by the Chinese State Department for Technical and Quarantine Control over Quality (SDTQCQ).

The decision was made in relation to revealing of bird flu (virus H5-N1) in these countries. SDTQCQ postponed issue of licenses on import of living bird and poultry products. The earlier-issued licenses were annulled. The messages also underlined importance of intensification of medical control at check-points, examination of luggage, as well as mail.

The ban was also imposed in regard to Kuwait, Cyprus, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Iran, France and Egypt.
