The presentation of an automated tax information system testifies for positive developments in economic processes in the country. We ought to understand that the development of economy should not depend on natural resources, but efficient state government system, Vahid Akhundov, the state adviser of Azerbaijan on economic issues, stated to a presentation of AVIS system on 17 March.
According to Akhundov, it would be expedient to establish similar systems for in other spheres and field to establish new electron government. The state is eager to take such steps to avoid isolation of the government, the state adviser stressed.
Fazil Mammadov, the Minister for Taxes, to date a unified corporate network has been established with the Ministry of Interior Affairs and it simplified the access to information on violators of the tax legislation. The talks are currently held with the Ministry of Finances on the topic of establishment of a unified information system between the treasury and automated tax system.
Natik Amirov, the Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Taxes, said that following the completion of automated treasury in 2007 it will be possible to create a corporate network. Intensive work with carried with the National Bank of Azerbaijan to enable the taxpayers to pay taxes through banks. Along with integration into the system of NBA and treasury it is planned to crate a unified network with the State Customs Committee and other state bodies.
The priorities of AVIS system are presentation of declaration directly by electron network, cut in the number of tax inspections, improvement of tax control, centralized implementation of registration, simplification of the use of documents. If the registration of entrepreneurs took 10 days before the application of the system, now it will be decreased to 2 days and later to minimum.
