A proposal on the establishment of a Court of Elders has been sounded in a meeting of the Managing Board of the Azerbaijani Union of Insurance Societies in an effort to decrease the number of court suits between insurers and those insured, Trend reports. The similar practice exists in foreign countries, in particular in France, where such body decreased the court suits by 40%.
It can be a public body comprised of representatives of insurance companies and independent experts. The Union said that the idea can be realized only upon the merger of two insurance unions.
This year the union might have other incomes, as during the meeting the sides reached agreement on conduct of training for banking specialists in the sphere of the insurance. They usually face with insurance risks while registering credits.
Another item in the agenda of the meeting was the discussion of an issue on organization of a summary conference on the results of activities in 2005. It will be held in May, while the exact date is still to be defined.
