The American Embassy has expressed its readiness to render a new technical assistance to Azerbaijan during its entering to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The volume of the aid

is expected to make up about $3 million, a source in the Azerbaijani Government told Trend. The preparation of documents for negotiations with the WTO member-states is likely to be one of these ways.

This time, Azerbaijan is expected to receive assistance within the USAID (United States Agency for International Development). This technical assistance has been rendered through the American Trade and Development Agency (ATDA) for three years. However, in September, 2006, the Agency repudiated to continue rendering this aid, aimed for the advisory services in the country's entering WTO.

Last consultations were within a grant agreement to the sum of $981.000 signed last year. A local juridical firm Omni is the local contractor of Boos-Alen-Hamelton. This is not the first aid of the American Government to Azerbaijan. The first agreement of such nature was $1.943m. and was signed three years ago.
