(autoinsidernews) - Earlier this year, Motor Trend speculated that GM was working on a new V6-powered Corvette it called the Sting Ray. Riding on the Kappa-platform, the new vehicle would be Chevy's own version of the Saturn Sky/Pontiac Solstice, but would be the only version to be powered by a V6, reports Trend.
According to Ohio's leading Corvette dealer, Rick Conti, the speculation is true, and the car is closer than we think, but won't be named Sting Ray.' The Chevrolet V6 Kappa may be unveiled as soon as the 2007 Detroit Auto Show, with a production version stickered below $30,000.
